Thank you for visiting
You, and I, We are all in this together
We are all going through something that is way bigger than we could even think about both physically and mentally. We cannot let a pandemic like COVID-19 take away all our normalcy that existed before it appeared. Through self-care we must find what is needed to overcome the difficulties this pandemic has caused. One way of self-care is through the selfless giving to others no matter how small. The rewards will be given back to you twice at good. Selfless giving through time, food, or money makes a difference in the world which feels so unstable at this time. You can make an impact.

The drive for the name A Needy Wilmington is to acknowledge the need of this community with the emphasize of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs which we still try to educate. If you do not have this basic physiological need as a beginning step you can’t go forward.
Please help and share our grass roots vision with others. We can’t do it without you, and we don’t want to. #anw #aneedinwilmington #aneedywilmington

Subject: Exciting Opportunity to Support Our Community!
Dear Community,
I hope this message finds you well. I am excited to share a unique opportunity for us to come together and support our local nonprofit in a way that will greatly increase our visibility and outreach!
This fall, we have the chance to be featured on posters displayed at Banning High School and in high-traffic areas around the city of Wilmington. These posters will highlight the various organizations that support our youth and their sports programs, giving us an opportunity to connect with more community members than ever before.
The best part? The posters are provided at no cost to the school, which means our contributions will directly support this exciting initiative. The athletic director has carefully selected only a handful of nonprofits and businesses to participate, and we are honored to be one of them.
To make this happen, we are seeking modest donations to secure our spot on these posters. We have two options for contributions:
-
$175 for a bleacher-sized poster
-
$370 for a business card-sized poster
-
If we exceed our fundraising goals, we will move to the next available size. Your support will help us grow, gain exposure, and enable us to continue our grassroots movement to assist those in need in our community—whether they are children, adults, families, students, citizens, or veterans.
Please note that we have a timeframe of 30 days to submit our contributions in full, but I will need to provide a decision soon to hold our place. If you would like to donate or learn more about the poster sizes and associated costs, please visit the link below:

Thank you in advance for considering this opportunity to support our mission and help us make a positive impact in our community. Together, we can make a difference!
Donation links on our social media profile or website. You may be anonymous please let us know. Tax deductible letter available on request.
Warm regards,
Tony

Dear Community Members,
I hope this letter finds you well. Today, I am reaching out with a heartfelt message about the importance of coming together as a community to address the pressing issues we face, particularly regarding homelessness and the challenges faced by those who are displaced.
As many of you know, our organization has been dedicated to finding solutions for homelessness, a crisis that affects not only those who are homeless but also our entire community. We have been actively in the past exploring collaborative opportunities, such as our partnership with Chaplain T.M. Babcock on "Helping the Homeless: A Service Guide" and the impactful work of Mike Boyce through "Homeless." Most recently, we have partnered with Robert Craig Films on their project, "No Address," which shines a light on this urgent issue.
Despite our efforts to raise awareness and motivate action through emails, social media, and community outreach, we have encountered overwhelming silence. While it may seem easy to dismiss this issue as someone else's problem, I assure you that ignoring it will not lead to change. For over a decade, attempts to address homelessness through quiet efforts, but as we have witnessed, these challenges have only grown.
The reality is that homelessness, like COVID-19, is a persistent problem that requires our collective attention and urgency. We must recognize that it won’t magically resolve itself; change will come only when we accept the problem and work together to find solutions. Even the smallest ideas can lead to significant impacts if we support them as a community.
I urge you all—our friends, neighbors, and local leaders—to foster conversations about homelessness in your daily lives. Speak about it at home, at school, and in the workplace. Don’t allow important discussions to fade away; let’s keep this issue at the forefront of our minds and actions.
Let’s seize the current opportunities before us and create a movement that brings about real, tangible change. Together, we can build a community where every individual has the support they need. I welcome your thoughts, ideas, and widespread involvement as we embark on this journey together.
Thank you for taking the time to read this important message. I look forward to your response and hope to see many of you actively engaged in these efforts.
With hope and determination,
Tony

Hi, here is the FINAL update and changes to the campaign.
First, we would like to say that change is good; it can bring new opportunities for growth, innovation, and improvement. It can inspire fresh perspectives, challenge the status quo, and lead to personal and collective development. Embracing change often encourages adaptability and resilience, which are essential for thriving in an ever-evolving world. With that being said, here is the campaign update.
Most of the students have been able to afford the jacket themselves through other financial opportunities. The number of students that were in need had gone down from 30 to 7. The amount needed had also changed and decreased from $1,500 to $350, and the due date has changed from Tuesday, February 25, 2025, to Tuesday, March 18, 2025. As of Thursday, February 27, 2025, the amount collected is $ 765.00 exceeding our goal.
Thank you to Alexandra Trujillo, Etna Preston, Allison Reyes, Monica Rodriguez, Anna Marrufo, Rachel Valadez, Nadia Duarte, Love Donor Tia GM, Mrs. Dieguez, Lupe A Rosas, Lorie Geluz, Johana Rendon, Banning High School Teachers and Itzel Monzon for completing this donation campaign. Please share via social media, email, text, and in person that you all exceeded this goal.
Campaign: Jackets for a Scholar
A proud item that a senior will received thanks to you representing their milestone and significant achievement of their hard work. It is an item that validates their path toward future accomplishments and shows that extra effort truly pays off.
“May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may the community hold you in the palm of their hand.” “May the student be fortunate with health, wealth and wisdom” – Inspiration from a Irish poem. "The Ripple Effect of Kindness"
When gratitude flows from our hearts,
It echoes through the world's every part,
A gentle breeze that whispers low,
Of love and care that's yet to grow.
For those who give, with open hand,
Their generosity becomes a plan,
To lift the heavy, darkened weight,
And bring hope to those who wait.
Their donations, a mighty stream,
That nourishes the soil of dream,
Where dreams are born, and futures bright,
And hope is kindled, day and night.
Trust is built, like stones laid strong,
On foundations of love that last long,
For those who give, with hearts so true,
Their kindness is a gift anew.
So let our gratitude extend,
In ripples, far and wide, and mend,
The fabric of our human bond, With threads of kindness, strong and beyond.
- Tony Fernandez
May this poem inspire you to continue spreading kindness and generosity, and may it remind you that the impact of your actions can be far-reaching and transformative.
