THE GET STUFFED BOXES (and 1 week of extra food while students are on fall break) are created by teachers and students.

QUARTERS FOR TURKEYS a fundraiser where students and teachers donate their change,

(as little as twenty-five cents cause it makes cents right?) for gift cards to go with the get stuffed boxes.

Food Drop Off Is on November 11th in front Of Banning High School where community members can drop off food Items for The Get Stuffed Boxes along with A $25.00 grocery gift card (if you wish) for the family to choose the protein of choice turkey, ham or other.

All proceeds will go to Banning High School identified families in need this fall season.

As of November 4th, we have forty families two hundred members in need. The final list will be out on Wednesday November 9th. All families will need help on thanksgiving. Twelve families have been identified to receive assistance from the ILWU Feed the community meal give away but that leaves the remaining twenty-eight families still need help. All families have been vetted by our social workers, counselors, and the parent center.

We realize that these are tough economic times. Our dollar does not stretch as much as it used to, but if we all pitch in a little it will go a long way. A canned good, a few items donated from the wish list for the box of even just twenty-five cents (cause it just makes cents, doesn’t it?) could help provide a meal for thanksgiving day. Even if you have any unwanted pennies lying around, (check your couches, and car seats because we will take them!

We are attempting three fundraiser campaigns for the thanksgiving season. The first is THE GET STUFFED BOX. Teachers and their classrooms will have a box setup for items that will be donated.

If you would like to help and develop a GET STUFFED BOX of food and drop it off, we would be so grateful. The list is attached. Even if you can donate one item it could help us reach our goal.

We have families who have access to a stove while we also have families who may use a different source like a microwave or hotplate. We have compiled a list of items needed for both types.

The second campaign is QUARTERS FOR TURKEYS. Students and teachers can donate their spare change to help us obtain gift cards FOR THE GET STUFFED BOXES. This will be used for a choice of a protein or any other item.  

The third campaign has to do with our community. On Saturday November 11th, community members can drop off nonperishable donations to help us with fill these THE GET STUFFFED BOXES. Drop off will be in front of the school from 9 am to 12 pm. Hope to see you there!
